Dr. Xue was interested in acupuncture and Chinese medicine since his childhood. He had a close family relative who practiced Chinese medicine and acupuncture and helped a lot of patients with all kinds of diseases. When Dr. Xue graduated from high school, he decided to study Chinese medicine and enrolled in a 5-year program in Chinese medicine and acupuncture at one of the famous Chinese medicine universities, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. During the 5 years, Dr. Xue studied intensively both Chinese medicine and biomedicine.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Xue continued his medical studies in Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Three years later, Dr. Xue received his Master’s degree in Medicine and worked in the teaching hospital of the college.
After 4 years of teaching and practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the affiliated hospital, Dr. Xue realized in order to be a great physician, further intensive theory studies and clinical practice was a necessity. Dr. Xue was accepted by the most famous Chinese medical doctors and professors in China, Deng Tie-Tao and Ou Yong-Xing, and studied in the prestigious university, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Another 3 years of studies and practice in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, Dr. Xue received his doctoral degree. Because of his outstanding achievement, Dr. Xue worked in the First Teaching Hospital affiliated with the university.
After 17 years of study, teaching, and clinical practice of Chinese medicine and acupuncture in China, Dr. Xue was invited by the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to teach and practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Minnesota. Currently, Dr. Xue works at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, in Portland, OR. He teaches classes in both master and doctoral programs, and also supervises student interns in the college clinic.
Dr. Xue specializes in many different areas in the clinic. His specializations are treating sports injuries such as pain conditions, GI disorders such as obesity, stress management and emotional stress such as anxiety and insomnia, woman’s illness such as irregular menses, painful period, infertility and menopause, and general immune support such as allergies and fatigue.
